Music and artists
A release date is a deadline, not a strategy.
Release planning, press materials, and music PR for artists.
Why it is different
Release week is the finish line.
By the time a single is out, the materials, the story, and the outreach should already be done. Music audiences, like skate scenes and fan communities, can tell when they are being sold to. We plan backwards from the date and pitch with the credibility the scene expects.
The job
What music PR covers here
Coverage for releases, tours, and announcements: music press, blogs, playlist curators, and culture outlets. Plus the tools behind the campaign, the bio, the one-sheet, the timeline. We work with independent artists on releases, tours, and announcements. Founded by Derrick Stembridge, whose composing credits include VH1’s Behind the Music.
What we do
Work backwards from the date.
Release planning
A schedule built backwards from release day. Singles, assets, and the windows press actually uses.
Press materials
Bio, one-sheet, and a reason to cover this record now. Current, not recycled from the last cycle.
Music press and curators
Pitching to outlets and playlist curators that fit the music, in the US and the UK.
After the single
Support so each release makes the next one easier to cover, instead of starting from zero.
Culture crossover
Campaigns where music meets a product, a film, or a brand. This is where the consumer work comes in.
Creators
Add-on outreach around a release. It does not replace a story.
How we work
The date is the constraint. The story is the pitch.
Start from the date
Set the release day, then plan singles, assets, and press windows backwards from it.
Find why this record, now
Every release needs a reason to cover it this week. We find that before we pitch.
Pitch the right corners
Music press, blogs, and curators that fit the sound. US and UK, separately.
Stay after release day
Follow-up, a debrief, and a tighter plan for the next one.
Work
Culture first. Then the plan.

Skate · Film · Culture
Culture can smell an ad.
Nike SB’s Debacle. PR and social for a skate film, built for a scene that ignores marketing speak.

Music · Product · Launch
The music was the proof.
For the JBL Synchros S700 launch, Trixie Whitley played a live set heard only through the headphones.
Questions
Before the date is public.
Who are artist services for?
Independent artists who want help with release planning, press materials, and music PR, from a single to a full record.
How far ahead of release should we start?
As early as you can, ideally before the date is announced. Materials, outreach windows, and singles all need lead time.
Do you guarantee press or playlist placements?
No. Nobody can honestly promise that. We pitch the writers and curators most likely to connect with the music, and we say what is realistic.
Do you work with artists in the UK as well as the US?
Yes. Nashville and London. We can pitch music press in both markets.
Do you work with brands on music-led campaigns?
Yes. Some of the work sits where music meets products and culture, like the JBL Synchros S700 launch.
I want to send music. Is this the right door?
This page is music PR for artists. Tell us about the release through the contact form and choose Artist services.
