Who we are
Labile Media Group (“we”, “us”) is a PR agency with offices in Nashville and London. We run labilemediagroup.com and are responsible for the personal data collected through it. This notice explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Contact form. If you use the contact form, we collect what you enter: your name, your email address and your message.
Technical and analytics data. When you visit the site, our hosting provider records basic technical data, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and when, and the site that referred you. Squarespace analytics uses this to give us aggregated statistics about how the site is used.
Cookies. The site uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are essential for the site to work. Others, such as analytics cookies, are used only if you allow them. See “Cookies” below.
Why we use it and our lawful bases
Under UK GDPR (and EU GDPR where it applies) we rely on these lawful bases:
- Replying to your enquiry and, if we work together, taking the steps needed before a contract: our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, or steps at your request before entering a contract.
- Running, securing and improving the site, including spam protection and essential cookies: our legitimate interest in operating a safe, working website.
- Non-essential cookies, such as analytics: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers who help us run the site and reply to you, acting on our instructions as processors:
- Squarespace, which hosts the site, operates the contact form and provides site analytics.
- Google, which provides spam protection on the form and the web fonts the site uses.
- The provider of the email service we use to receive and answer enquiries.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights.
International transfers
Our team works from the US and the UK, and some of our providers process data in the US and other countries. Where personal data leaves the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on recognised safeguards, such as adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified, or standard contractual clauses and the UK addendum.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. If we start working together, we keep relevant information for as long as the work and our legal and accounting obligations require. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form under Squarespace’s standard retention settings. When data is no longer needed, we delete it.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or the EU, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it is wrong;
- have it deleted;
- restrict how we use it;
- object to our use of it based on legitimate interests;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
If you are in the US, depending on your state (for example California, under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information in that way. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
To use any of these rights, contact us as described below. We may need to confirm your identity first.
If you are in the UK and unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk ↗. If you are in the EU, you can complain to your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep the site working and secure, and they do not need your consent. Analytics and other non-essential cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time by reopening the cookie banner preferences on this site. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then not work properly.
Children
This site is meant for businesses and professionals. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
